Dear Parents/Guardians,

We want to take this opportunity to warmly welcome both our new and returning families ot the upcoming school year at St. Joseph School. Our staff has been diligently preparing for an excellent start on Tuesday, September 3rd, and we are enthusiastic about the beginning of the new academic year.

There are a few important items we need to let you know before the school year begins:

BACK TO SCHOOL - Tuesday, September 3rd. Pickup time is 11:45 am

  • Tuesday is a half day 8:30-11:45 am - Civvies day (no uniform)

  • Please pick up your children promptly as staff are going directly into staff meetings

  • Full uniform for Wednesday, September 4th

  • If your child's uniform has not arrived yet, please don't worry, it will be here soon. S

end your child to school in regular clothes (no jeans, short shorts, etc.) until you receive your uniform

CLASSROOM PLACEMENT

When you arrive on Tuesday, you will find chairs arranged outside for each class lineup. Each chair will display the list of children assigned to that particular class and teacher. If your child expresses concern about class assignments or friendships, please understand that our staff has invested considerable effort into making these placements. We encourage you to remain positive, supportive, and encouraging during this transition. It's normal for adjustments to take a few days, and we appreciate your understanding and support. Please note that students will not be transferred to another class. Thank you.

CLASS FEES

Class fees will be auto-withdrawn from your account on September 6th. If you are not set up for auto withdrawal, you will be contacted the first week of school regarding payment.

  • Children must arrive at school on time. Students should be dropped off no later than 8:25 am.

  • Please park in the parking lot if you intend to leave your vehicle for any reason (getting your child's backpack from the trunk, putting a coat on your child etc.).

  • If you are using the drop-off lane, please move up as far as possible, even if there is no one behind you (no idling as per the Kelowna bylaw of one minute).

  • Do not drop off your child unless you see a supervisor with an orange vest. Supervision begins at 8:10 am.

  • Students may place their backpacks on their line and play until the bell goes at 8:30 am; they will not be permitted into the building before this time.
