Daily Life

Spiritual growth doesn’t happen by accident. It is something that must be worked at each and every day. Here at St. Joseph Elementary School we recognize the importance, and necessity of working our Faith into the daily life of our school.

  • Each day, our staff gathers for morning prayer
  • All individual classes begin their day in prayer
  • Throughout each day a point is always made to ask “What would Jesus do?”
  • Weekly assemblies feature words and instruction from our Chaplain
  • Our religion classes are all conducted within Diocesan-approved programs such as Faith First and Benzinger Family Life
  • We provide as much support as we can to aid in the growth of each individual family’s at-home Faith Life
  • All classes take turns planning monthly School Liturgies and assist directly in the celebration of the Mass
  • During the seasons of Advent and Lent, the priests from all eight of our supporting parishes gather to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation with the students.
  • Our Grade Seven classes personally present a meaningful Remembrance Day Assembly each year
  • Each year our Grade Seven classes present an amazingly powerful and interactive project on the lives of the Saints which is attended by their parents and their Grade Two buddies .
  • Grade Two students prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist each year
  • Grade Seven students, in conjunction with their own personal parish community, prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation each year.
  • There are dedicated student and staff retreats over the course of the school year
  • Our entire instructional focus is suspended from the thread of love and respect for all

Making the Father, Son and Holy Spirit a part of our lives, and the lives of students each day, is one of the most important jobs we have at St. Joseph Elementary School.
